Once upon a time at the Renaissance court of Urbino, Duke Federico da Montefeltro created a climate of ferment and artistic, cultural and gastronomic flourishing. It is here that Crescia Sfogliata was born, a tradition that continues today. Flour, eggs, salt, pepper and lard are the ingredients of the crescia filo pastry. Pepper and eggs were nutritious and precious foods that only nobles could afford, in fact crescia was reserved for the Ducal court.

Prepared by hand with patience, and left to rest for a whole night, it was then rolled out with a rolling pin and cooked on the Panaro. Today we continue the tradition by proposing the same ancient flavour, which smacks of history: that of the Crescia Sfogliata from Urbino.

Panaro is the name of the dish in which a dish was cooked during the Renaissance. Guess which one? Yes, that's her. So when we opened our first little shop in 1985 we called it that. Since those days, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge and is growing inside the ovens. We first became a slightly larger shop and then a laboratory. Ours is a story passed down from hand to hand. From heart to heart.

 
 

NEW PIADINA SNACK

The unique taste of piadina in a new offer as a snack easy to grab for a pause mid afternoon and perfect to accompany any aperitifs moment, on top of being a tasty substitute for bread at lunch or dinner.

Ideal is also to have piadina snacks around a barbecue in a sunny back garden!

The range is offering the Classic Piadina recipe, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil one and the sophisticated Flaxseed oil and Chia seeds.

And in 2025 our collaboration with the very well reputed Truffle expert ITALIA TARTUFI delivered the new WHITE TRUFFLE flavoured Piadina Snack!

TRADITIONAL PIADINA

Our range of traditional PIADINA, the classic Italian Emilia Romagna and Le Marche wrap, offers :

  • the Original Traditional recipe, thicker,

  • the Extra Virgin Olive Oil recipe, soft and smooth,

  • the Wholewheat one,

  • the Piadina Sfogliata, soft and moist,

  • the Mini Piadina, ideal for even a juicy burger piadina or grilled vegetables piadina.

Enjoy them with classic recipes filled with Creamy cheese and Rucola, or in a classic Parma ham, Creamy cheese and Cherry tomatoes, or warm it up with Prosciutto Cotto and Emmental cheese, and try the Wholewheat one with Gorgonzola (the Italian blue cheese) and Mortadella!

That’s for the savoury part, yet the piadina is suitable also for a lovely indulgent piadina with chocolate spread and fresh raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries!
