SIENA BISCUITS & CAKES - DOLCEZZE DI NANNI

Since 1959 at Ponte D’Arbia,in the heart of the Val D’Arbia alongside Via Francigena (Tuscany) the Marini Giovanni’s family, that all of his friends remember of him as “Nanni”, from 1984, daily offers to the gourmands all over world the wonderful fruits of the ancient pastry tradition of Siena: “Le Dolcezze di Nanni”.

From Marco’s experience, keeper of dad Nanni pastry passion and nonna Ada traditional recipes ,today as then, the delicacies of this land, rich in flavours, daily come to life. The whole handicraft production of these delicious handmade cakes and the choice of highest-quality raw materials (natural and without preservatives), make the pastry of “Nanni” known and attended by all the gourmands from Siena and not only from them.

The cakes of Nanni, strictly made by hands, are famous over the world. Panforte is still cooked in copper pots and then, shaped by hands, to keep unchanged the taste and the ancient flavours. Ricciarelli and Amaretti, made of carefully selected almonds, are kneaded and, then,“pinched” one by one.Cantucci, Brutti ma Buoni, Biscottoni and other cakes, typical of our tradition, are part of a production that has jealously keptthe simplicity of the ingredients, putting perfectly together the handicraft with a strict and precise quality check.Only doing in this way, we can be sure of transmitting to you the sensation of fragrance and taste of our history.

PANFORTE

Nanni’ Panforte is renowned worldwide for its genuine flavour made with only highest quality ingredients and without any preservatives. Candied fruIts are cooked in a pot and then almonds and spices are added just to maintain its aroma, flavour, to make this dessert irresistible.

This sweet cake has got a taste definite and delicate. Panforte was traditionally eaten during Christmas festivities but today it is tasted all year .

Excellent as a dessert or snack, you can enjoy it with a good glass of Vin Santo or Moscatello.

Most daring people and we suggest to serve Panforte as an appetizer or starter with matured cheese. Ideal as an energy snack par excellence with 100% natural ingredients, suitable before / after any sport or physical fatigue.

 

PANFORTE ANTICO

Nanni’ Panforte ANTICO celebrate a richer version of Panforte Classico with plenty of selected Cocoa powder covering the cake as well as inside the cake dow.

It represent the ultimate chocolate experience for the estimators of Panforte from Siena with its delicate yet rich and intense taste.

Delicious as a dessert or snack, you can enjoy it with a good glass of Vin Santo and even daring to savour it accompanied by classic red wines of Tuscany such as Chianti Classico, Rosso di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulcinao or Rosso di Montecucco.

 

SOFT AMARETTI

Soft almond paste produced exclusively with almonds (at 42% minimum) devided by hand into small tasty morsels, handpinched one by one with a light sprinkling of icing sugar according to the original recipe handed down by grandma Ada and dad Nanni.

Classic version is with almond enriched with almond essence and Orange and Lemon with citrus essences, as well as the Chocolate version.

While a mixture of coffee and milk creates the characteristic taste of cappuccino, you can also find out an amazing cuddle tasting the cocoa flavour and newly arrived the caramel one.

Ideal to be enjoyed in any moment of the day, excellent dessert, or with a good glass of red or fortified wine.

 
 

FLORIANA’S CAKES

Delicious soft cakes are cooked in a copper pot and left to rest untill become cold, as our family used to do in the past .

Similar to the process of Panforte, Torte Floriana have different ingredients, spices, dried and candied fruit :

  • Figs and Walnuts

  • Almonds and Cedar

  • Orange and Hazelnuts.

Torte Floriana are a harmony of refined and unique flavours.

 

RICCIARELLI

Traditional Tuscan soft Almond paste Biscuits.

Delicate almond paste with only almond of the almond tree (40% minimum) sugar, egg white and the addition of candied orange peels.

Our Ricciarelli have a typical fluffy heart born in Siena and appreciated at Christmas. The processing is carried out entirely by hand, following the aged recepies and rules which guarantee the high quality of our sweetness.

Ricciarelli are made without flour and also any preservatives and dyes are added.

Excellent at the end of a meal tasting with sweet wines such as Vin Santo or Moscadello di Montalcino. Ideal at any time of the day, with tea, coffee or cappuccino.

 

CANTUCCI

Tuscan biscuits par excellence, Cantucci are appreciated worldwide.

Synonymous of good Tuscan cuisine, they are traditionally dipped into a glass of Vin Santo or other fortified wines. The process is carried out by hand respecting the old rules that guarantee the high quality of our Cantucci.

Crisp and light with a delicate taste, they are perfect for finishing the meal with sweetness.

Delicious with tea, milk, cappuccino or coffee.

You can taste them, in the classic variations characterised by a high presence of whole shelled almonds or reimagined combined with Pistachio, Orange and Chocolate or Figs.

 

BISCOTTONI

Literally the Big Biscuits, simple and genuine ingredients, perfect to be served as a snack or for breakfast, they are among the most popular biscuits for children.

  • BISCOTTONI, light and crispy are prepared with ingredients such as butter, sugar, eggs and flour.

  • Nonna Ada used to prepare them every morning for her grandchildren Marco and Luca and we still use to deep them into milk or coffee at breakfast.

  • Anyway they are extraordinary also deep in milk, hot chocolate, tea, chamomile and herbal tea or almond milk every occasion is good to eat Biscottoni !!!
